Proposed 655 IAC Chapter 3 & Chapter 5 Rule Changes

The Iowa Board of Nursing announces the Notice of Intended Action regarding proposed new chapter 5 rules, and the resultant chapter 3 revised rules. Proposed chapter 5 has been rewritten to make the rules more succinct, straight-forward, and uniform with national continuing education (CE) accrediting bodies and other boards of nursing in mandatory CE states.  

The "Enhanced" Nurse Licensure Compact is Passed

On Friday, April 21, 2017, Governor Terry Branstad signed SF419 into law. This bill is the “enhanced” language for the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Iowa has successfully been part of the current Nurse Licensure Compact for 16 years and now we will be part of the new and improved Nurse Licensure Compact.
