On Friday, July 21st North Carolina became the 26th state to adopt the enhanced NLC (eNLC). Please read the News Release from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and information on the implementation date. More information and eNLC resources will be available in the near future.

Nursing Newsletter - Updated Continuing Education (CE) Listings

Volume 36, No. 3 of the Nursing Newsletter has been updated to reflect the CE offerings hosted by Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from August to October 2017. High Volume of Exam Applications

June 6, 2017 - The Iowa Board of Nursing is experiencing a high volume of applications for exam. Staff is working diligently to process these in a timely manner. The "Enhanced" Nurse Licensure Compact is Passed

On Friday, April 21, 2017, Governor Terry Branstad signed SF419 into law. This bill is the “enhanced” language for the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Iowa has successfully been part of the current Nurse Licensure Compact for 16 years and now we will be part of the new and improved Nurse Licensure Compact.
